The teething thing became pretty painful game for Cameron over the weekend and he rode a roller-coaster fever along with it. I was thanking my lucky stars on Sunday evening that he had his 9 month well check on Monday morning. Those lucky stars were actually little, bitty, meteorites. Shooting themselves at us.
Nasty little buggers.
Not only were we in the midst of teething, but, turns out, Cameron also had an ear infection in one ear, had to get a shot AND we had to get blood drawn. Man, talk about putting his little body through the ringer.
I hate to call Tim out on the fact that he had a "meeting" but Cameron and I had to brave the blood draw alone. I taught him my trick of turning your head and closing your eyes so that we didn't have to watch. He was a trooper and I was very proud. I even grabbed a Tasmanian Devil sticker for him on the way out.
Apparently it's not all that uncommon for a ear infection to spark during a teething battle. We have spent the last few days doing a lot of snuggling and sleeping. Cameron stayed very clean with lots of baths to keep the fevers down.
Poor guy didn't want to be laying down on his back because it hurt. Plus all that fluid was causing his nose to run like crazy which meant lots of snot and a hard time having his bottle. When you make it harder for a kid that likes to eat, it's not always pretty.
I have to make note of the fact that even when he's sick, he's still seems so equally part Tim and part me.
It's so nice that we have such a great support system...oh and BARNEY PBS!
I think we're finally on the path to recovery. Thank goodness!
It's a good thing too, because a very special visitor is on her way to meet this little munchkin!
Watch out Cameron, you're about to learn all about the Italian, New Yorker!
