Oh, I have a blog?

So I have totally failed at blogging recently. It's ok because it means that I'm spending my time doing instead of sitting in front of the computer. However, in my effort to play a little catch up, I'm going to try and randomly go through the list of things rolling through my brain these days.

*There's this 30 to 90 minute window in the mornings (depending on if I go to they gym or not) where I'm by myself before anyone else wakes up. As I am blow drying my hair or brushing my teeth, I look at myself and try to really look at myself.  In some ways it's a silent prayer I guess. Something that soothes me before the routine, the silly grind, the loud musical that has become my (our) life.

* The last two months I've had the chance to have a girls weekend, a fabulous date night and a visit from my Grandparents. I can't tell you just how good I am after all of those individual moments. Cloud 9...

* I've decided that the approach to the 2nd birthday is like an old see-saw that has an annoying creek and needs to be oiled. On one hand, as a Mom, you're feeling so wonderful because you're gaining your independence back (in a totally different way, but at least it's something), you're feeling like your on the cusp of having life in a pseudo-managed state without all the gear, maybe. Then you look up at that toddler that's about to turn two and you realize that you're also about to say goodbye to the baby stages at home.  That little pocket that you've tucked, er - hidden, into the back of your Mama-heart-closet pulls a bit. That's when you start trying to avoid looking at pictures of puppies, because YOU KNOW that's not the answer either.

* Swim lessons have begun and after a few sessions of trying to figure out a schedule, I think we've got it under control. Someone is finally finding his way through the swim lesson, thank goodness.  The best moment is when Payton hears Cameron yell across the pool (from his own swim lesson) "Hi Payton!! Hi!!". Payton lights up and my heart melts.

Currently I'm:
Reading:  The Birth Order Book by Dr. Kevin Leman  (it's so interesting)
Eating:  lots of Greek salads
Watching:  Downton Abbey and Daniel Tiger. I'm still not sure if I love Downton Abbey or not, but stories of family always have an extra way of getting me hooked.
Doing: 1 day a week I have been giving myself my own spin class. It can be pretty entertaining. Also, I've learned that I do everything to a rhythm. Am I the only one that finds the beat in everything they do?
Loving:  my new camera! Maybe that's why I haven't been blogging as often: I don't have as many pictures on my phone and it can be a bit more time consuming to get those photos on here.
