April Flowers, Bring May Showers

Showers as in...rain (lots of it), plans, celebrations - you know the typical spring rush of cramming it all in before summer begins and temperatures get into the 100s!

It all began with this girls Graduation from TCU!!!

I'm super proud and a little (ok, a lot) jealous of her adventures. Watch out world, my Sister is out here making her mark.

Great Grandparents and Super Aunts came in to celebrate Graduation and I held on a little longer in my hugs to them all.  It was a fast visit, but oh so needed & appreciated!

I flew to NY to celebrate a very special bride before her big day and left Tim alone with the boys for a whole weekend.
It was so nice to be there and get to spend some QT with her before the rush of the wedding comes around.

My family survived without me (I knew they would) and I even made it back (by waking up at 4:30AM and running through an airport with a 20 minute layover) just in time for cupcakes to celebrate this kid turning 3!

The kids each moved up a class in school which brought new milestones in taking first steps and potty training! Hooray!

We had some out of town visitors that we haven't seen in so long. It was a nice treat and made me want to instantly start planning more visits. However, traveling with kids right now is no easy task.

Texas is getting rain like you wouldn't believe and we've been working hard to keep our munchkins as entertained as we possibly can without getting huge cases of cabin fever!  We're so lucky compared to so many others. It's been a little difficult to try and explain the nutty weather to Cameron lately. Tornado warnings and floods are a bit more abstract then lightening he can see and thunder he can hear.

Hopefully the May Showers will bring lots of June sunshine and a pool that's back to normal so that we can begin the joys of summer!

Hopefully I'll get back to a more regularly blogging schedule - I miss it.

Free to be Three!

Dear Cameron,
It's here, the Birthday you've been talking about for the last 5 months!  You are one amazing little boy with so much heart and expression, even if - no when - that expression is stubbornness!

You requested a blue cupcake.

Your adore your brother and can't wait for him to be running alongside you!
Your Daddy hung the moon! Oh how he can make you laugh.

You stand your ground when  you "believe" in something. I love this, and I hate it too. When it's arguing over which water bottle you wanted at 8:30PM, I despise it, but I know that when you're older it'll be over things that count and hopefully things that matter.

I love when you read a book by yourself. Your stories are the best!

You are doing so well with potty training I could cry! We've worked so hard for this milestone and now that you're getting it I feel like you're bigger than I'm ready for.

Things are clicking left and right, before my very eyes. You tell me that you love me, and then you make sure that I know you love Daddy & Payton too. It's ok, sweet boy, you can love all of us. I know there's a lot of love in that big heart.  When you give me a kiss goodbye or goodnight, you really pucker and it melts me down to my toes. Will you do that at 16? Will it be that cute?

You say big words in your sentences, for instance you'll start something off like, "well actually Mommy".  Your Daddy thinks it's hysterical.

My favorite thing right now is when you talk to Payton and he watches you as if he actually knows everything you're saying. The dialog that is about to happen is going to be so unreal.

You've grown so much this last year sweet boy. I'm so very proud of all that you're learning to be. Above all else, remember kindness and love.

Favorites: trucks/cars, Umi Zoomi, swimming lessons with Daddy, sausage, pepperoni rolls and most of all - Payton!

Happy Birthday to you Cameron! Hope this 3rd year is full of good manners, big smiles and lots of love!
We love you to the moon & back!
